Pastor Montie McFerrin served Saltcity Cowboy Church as Pastor for 13 years, and his love for the Lord and his church family helped shape SCC from the very beginning. He and his family were part of founding the church in December 2012, first meeting in the sale barn across the street until April 2015, when SCC moved into the buidling we call home today.

Montie served faithfully alongside his late wife Tina, their son Colton, and daughter Katie and her family. In February 2021, Tina passed away, and her absence was deeply felt by all who loved her.  In August 2022, Montie married Debbie and together they blended families, welcoming Kristin,  Amy, and Jake along with their children to the SCC family.

Sadly, Pastor Montie passed away in August 2025. He is greatly missed, and we are forever grateful for the years of leadership, sacrifice, and care he poured into this church. His legacy continues through the lives he touched and through his family, who still serve at SCC in many different roles, including Jake and Kristin in the band and Debbie as the Children's Ministry Leader.
